The New Party have quite a good website. If you go to their principles page I think you will see there is little that the Conservative Party can disagree with. The irony is that they say they are so successful because the other parties keep stealing their policies.
Even as a small party they are against PR, which is not a bad thing. They are also running a stop the spin campaign.
Have fun reading!

Sounds pretty cool to me thinker, perhaps Britain will be great again someday.
We could certainly do with a return of Blind Jack of Knaresborough to build a few roads and get us moving again.
Pity criminals are not made to do community service and red tape slashed to allow small companies to employ the out of work again.
How can any small outfit afford to employ ladies who are still fertile when doing so could incur savage cost implications on maternity leave and temp replacing etc.
Only govt departments and fat ineffecient large companies can live with the increasing burdens imposed on business.
Let free trade and capitalism rule unfettered.
Great idea cut taxes and cut away the dead hand of government interference allowing decent profits from fair margins thus creating wealth and employment.
Of course this would mean savage cuts to the civil service head count and preserve tax payers ability to support the gold plated pensions already promised.
I take it you support this from the New Party?
"The Conservative party has become steadily more inclined to adopt the fashions of the day. This may get them votes but it prevents them attempting the far-reaching changes that our society needs. Despite espousing sound values that resonate with people on many issues, history shows that the Conservatives will always compromise our future for political gain.
While the Conservative party is now critical of the EU it was they who took us into the EEC and subsequently signed the Single European Act and the Maastricht Treaty.
In recent years the party has reverted to its post-war role of accepting the apparent consensus and promising not to stray from it too fundamentally.
In short, the Conservatives – if we can believe their promises – will tax slightly less than Labour, will try to spend the money a little more wisely and will be a bit tougher with the EU. In other words, they may slow down our decline but they will not reverse it."
Or this?
"Hospitals and health care centres meeting minimum criteria may establish themselves as independent trusts or may opt for private investment. Charges for particular treatments may vary between hospitals. However, hospitals will have an incentive to be efficient in their use of resources as their fees will have to be competitive. However it is important to recognise that hospitals will also be competing on quality. This is already happening overseas where privately operated hospitals make a profit and achieve standards that NHS managers can only dream about."
Or this?
"Make it easier for Greenfield sites to be made available for new house building"
Or this?
"This policy also moves a substantial part of local taxation away from the controversial council tax to direct taxation on earnings, which is of course based on the ability to pay.
We will adopt the ‘Alternative Vote’ system, in which voters can express an order of preference between candidates in a given constituency. Candidates must achieve over 50 per cent of the vote, taking into account second and third preferences."
Just because I place links to other sites on this blog does not mean I support them. I merely thought they had an interesting perspective.
In respect of your EU comments they are of course interesting. At the time of entering the EU we were entering a grouping of trading nations. In fact the Single European Act (and to a large part Maastricht) were about extending that economic co-operation. There is much to be gained from those processes. Where things have changed is that Europe's current path is toward political integration. The Conservatives were never for that, the people of Briatin were never for that. The Lib Dems were all for it and Labour are the ones caught in the middle with Blair for it and Brown against it.
So far from the Conservatives "adopting the fashion of the day" we have been pretty consistent on where we should be. There are some Conservatives, such as Ken Clarke, who appear to have blown around in the wind but the parties position has not changed.
....they are clearly mad when it comes to building on Greenfield sites!!
I live in Berrylands, this used to be a greenfield did it not?
Some encroachment is inevitable unless we anticipate a massive reduction in population.
Of course Berryalnds used to be green. In fact part of the attraction of Berrylands is that there are still parts that are green. However, I would oppose any attempt to build along the Hogsmill tributary along Elmbridge Avenue because I do not believe that we should ever have wall to wall concrete from coast to coast.
We are seeing some appalling buldings going up in Kingston which are supposed to be for famalies and yet they have almost no green amenity space for children.
In essence there needs to be a balance. The point has come where we should be developing that which has already been built on and not destroying more greenfield sites.
