Vote for a new Tory logo

Over at Conservativehome they are asking you to vote for what you think is the best new logo for the Conservative party. The result gets announced tomorrow at 9am.

I hate logos. Meaningless claptrap.

Whatever is the Labour rose supposed to represent? A great feat of randon inoffensiveness from the great Mandelson.

Why don't the Conservatives be original and not have a logo at all?

I like the oak tree logo best. The image is symbolic of what conservatism is all about - growth and change, but rooted in the best traditions of the past. Also it may appeal to many Green voters too!

I dont much care for the England logo! It looks rather too similar to the Labour 'Rose'.

Sir John Stevens for Mayor by the way!

Definitely NOT the dolphin one! Who on earth suggested that?

This is the list given on Ian Dale's site for potential Tory candidates for London Mayor. Anyone any preferences? (some of them must have been put in for a wind up! I thought Roger Evans was a Labour MEP; also who on earth are Andrew Boff and Simon Milton?)

Nick Ferrari
Michael Portillo
Zak Goldsmith
Steve Norris
Andrew Boff
Richard Barnes
Roger Evans
Angie Bray
Vanessa Feltz
Nicholas Boles
Syed Kamall
Simon Milton
Eric Ollerenshaw
Ray Lewis
Brian Coleman

My top 3 would be:
1. Sir John Stevens
2. Michael Portillo
3. Zac Goldsmith (this one is a bit doddgy perhaps!)

Hello Kevin,

Nice blog by the way, and I agree with most of your political outlooks - just thought I'd point out Sir John Stevens is a peer now, so he should be referred to as Lord Stevens of Kirkwhelpington.

I agree with you on Lord Stevens for Mayor, by the way, he is a distinguished public servant, with a vast wealth of experience, including his time as Met Commissioner which must have been him second-to-none experiences and insight into the machinery of London Governance.

As for the logos, what a load of rubbish! Keep the Tory Torch, I say! Reflects the party best, but we need to ask ourselves, are we an item of sports designer gear, or are we a political movement to be reckoned with!

I wish you the very best of luck at the next election, and if I am living in Surrey at the time I'll contact you to come up to Kingston to help your campaign.

Keep up the great work.
