I have been shown a pretty silly Lib Dem newspaper that has just gone out in Kingston.
Apparently Kingston Council has been given the Thumbs Up. Funny then that it does not mention that residents, when surveyed, do not believe that Kingston is better now than it was in 2002 and that the satisfaction rate with services might have rise but it is still well below what it was in 2002.
On the back page they pretend that the Lib Dem tax rises have been less than the Conservatives. The last time the Conservatives controlled Kingston Council was 1994. The period they are talking about was when there was no overall control. The last two budgets we actually voted against but that would not make such a good piece of propaganda I suppose. You would have thought that after all the recent negative publicity, and their emergence as the “really nasty party”, they would back off and try a bit of positive campaigning about what they are going to do for Kingston for the next four years were they to win the elections in May. Still the funny thing about their graphs is that they have demonstrated that under their rule Council tax has risen by over 30%!
Apparently the Lib Dems are claiming the credit for getting Chessington Community College rebuilt. Funny then that when Government announced this money the Lib Dem spokesman on Kingston Council said in the Surrey Comet that she was “surprised” and “didn’t expect it”. On her blog she called it a “windfall”.
According to their leaflet I am against the merger of my old school with Coombe Girl’s. The fact is I am not against it but I am against changing the name. You can see the letter I wrote to the local papers here. I was not alone because another letter also appeared.
Still the Lib Dem motto has always been “never let the truth get in the way of a good story”. I am sure we have much more of this rubbish to come.

So the Lib Dems want to get rid of faith schools?
I assume this will mean getting rid of Islamic schools as well?
Surely they wouldn't want to upset their new found friends, I mean haven't the Libs struck up a revitalised relationship with the muslim community in recent times?
Oh, maybe their policy on homosexuals could do with having a look at as well, esspecially in light of New Malden based Sir Iqbal Sacranie's recent comments....
A few things to think about for our crack-pot-headed, tax fetished, car-hating, money wasting chums perhaps?
As one of the most specifically anti-Lib Dem blogs I've ever seen, I don't think you can really criticise anyone for being 'nasty'. Also, as the representative of a political party who think there's nothing wrong in putting out a series of posters of the leader of another party with demon eyes, you can hardly talk. Even so, if your leader has a drink problem that you've tried to make him get help for and he's failing to do so or it's not working, then there's nothing nasty about saying enough is enough.
"...most specifically anti Lib Dem blogs I've ever seen"? Does the truth hurt?
Let's see the charge sheet:
Back stabs to Kennedy
Lib Dem leadership candidate betrays his family with a series of homosexual prostitutes and with a style of sex so degrading even the News of the World cannot print it.
Another leadership candidate admits he lied about his sexuality having abused the by election candidate he defeated by claiming he was the "straight coice" candidate.
Another leadership candidate says he cannot remember how much he is worth becuase he has so many houses (9 apparently) that he cannot keep count of his money.
Another leadership candidate who professes he will go on and on as leadr even into the next but one election - even though he will be over 70 by then!
And that's just the last six weeks.
Fact is Kennedy had a drink problem for years and the Lib Dems hid it because they felt it was good for them electorally. If they had really cared about him they would have helped him go earlier. I actually feel sorry for the man that his supposed friends chose this way to depose him. This post was not anti Lib Dem merely reflecting Lib Dem blogs. Have a look at:

Demon eyes posters? Does anyone now believe they were wrong. May be they were before their time but even the Lib Dems would admit that Blair has grown into them.
Surely there cannot be a PRO L/Dem blog?
Lets face it chaps, all the parties have a pretty rum collection of members, apart of course for the "wimmin" who are always beyond reproach.Even the lovely Theresa Gorman.
No politics is and always has been a dirty game for it is primarily about gaining and then holding on to power.
The Tories have managed this process better than most and without their careful stewardship prior to Blair/Brown,N/Labours "wonder economy" could never have been. Now of course that leagcy has been squandered and we are back to tax and spend.
L/Dems ideas? none except as outlined by our beloved brother who leads the Council who said something like..."I am here to spend Public Money not save it.
Good grief no wonder we pay the most onerous C/Tax in London.
Can we forge a Lib-Tory pact to crush Kingston "Yoof" Parliament?
All funding must be cut IMMEDIATELY! This is the only way in which we can extinguish that Labour firebrand Michael Joslin, who is a continual thorn in both out sides.
(it is interesting to note that on his website Joslin denies, or refuses to reveal, any party affiliation and deleates any comments that suggest otherwise:
"The reason my comment was deleted (I have now re-worded it, above) is that it suggested that Michael had some party political affiliations, which either because he denies/is ashamed about, he didn't want people to know about (because it wasn't true...)"
That will be well-known local Labour activist Michael Joslin then, sidekick of Nick "up the workers!" Parrot.
You leave my Michael alone. He is a lovely boy. Michael, don't you pay any attention to those nasty LibDem / Tory bullies. They're just jealous because they don't get as much media coverage as you.
aaa I see Conservative Future having been having fun! Hows life at Kingston University? and....I simply tell the truth. Maybe thats more than some people can handle.
Sorry Michael, but I did not understand a word of your lost(sic) comment.
I admit I am a boring old fart who's loved too much and probably drunk too much and certainly laughed a lot.
I guess I just cannot keep up with you, your mum or your hairdresser.
What are you the new face of?
Well known Labour activisit Michael - you are a prophet wailing in the wind! If only they would listen...
Hany on many people said that about Enoch Powell! You dont like Enoch do you Michael (the well-known Labour activist)?
VOTE JOSLIN - VOTE LABOUR
NEW JOSLIN - NEW DANGER!
Michael (well-known Labour activist) people on here cant handle the truth!
p.s.
Isnt that Derek Osborne a mean man cutting the "yoof" budget? Hang on - good idea!
There's only one Derek Osborne, theres only one Derek Osborne...
VOTE OSBORNE - THE ANTI-MICHAEL JOSLIN CANDIDATE
I was going to vote Conservative in the local elections but thanks to the childish behaviour of certain members of Conservative Future I most defintely will not be. If this is how you behave how can we trust you to run this council?
So if the last time the Conservatives ran the council was 1994, why did you personally claim more than £30,000 in special responsibility allowances between 1998 and 2002?
Why did you sit in a 'cabinet' made up entirely of Conservatives? Why did you title yourself 'Leader of the Adminstration'?
If you weren't in charge perhaps you should pay the £30k back?
I was called Leader of the Administration because I was not the Leader of the Council - which is what Derek Osbourne is now called. Something the Lib Dems insisted on.
At the time the Council was hung and we did not have "control". In fact we voted against the budgets for the final two years that the Lib Dem leaflet talks about as being Conservative. The Lib Dems voted through the budget.
Somebody had to take the position as the Lib Dems refused when they were offered it. The Lib Dems were of course taking allowances as well. The leader of the Lib Dems got an allowance of much the same level.
As it also happens I was only the Leader for a year!
Oh that's alright then - you were only leader for a year and your party's budget was voted down twice.
But still you took our money.
Snouts in troughs eh Tory Boy?
